Feudalism was effective because it formed a model government system. All o the four branches(serfs, knights, lords and kings)depended on each other. Without one branch, the system would break.
It is order. The people needed order and protection. that is what they got. Protection from barbarians and a central government to keep things out of chaos.
Feudalism was a good system of government for the people in ancient Europe because it kept order in the kingdoms. It worked in a way that included a higher class person or noble passing down land in exchange for loyalty and military aid to lower class people.
The peasants got the ability to be protected and have a chance to live. The knights got land to live on and food to eat. Nobles got protection, food, and riches. Feudalism worked
It was a system of government that seemed to be working at the time, and kept peace by creating different social classes. The classes were Kings, Lords, Knights, Peasants, and Serfs. Peasants and Serfs were considered lower class, while the other three were considered high.
Feudalism dominated Europe in the Middle ages for many reasons. One reason was because it was a system that benifited all of the different social classes and provided order for Rome. It also provided land and protection. The peasents got protection and land from the knights, the knights got land from the nobles in exchange for fighting for the king, the nobles got protection and land from the king in exchange for knights, the knights provided protection for the king and the peasents worked which provided food and other resources for all of the upper classes. The king recieved all of these things by distributing parts of his land to these other social classes.
At the top of the Feudalism society were the Kings. Then came the Lords, Knights, and Serfs. The Serfs had to pay taxes to the Lords and Kings. The Kings were always right. The Knights were very loyal to the King and fought all of their battles. They defended the castles and villages. The Lords set up taxes and laws and to look over the business of the castle. The Serfs lives were very hard. The Serfs were the farmers and harvested all of the crops. They gave most of the crops away to the King and were payed very little. This society worked because of the upper and lower class level. Each class new its purpose.
